Prominent writer Dr. Krishna Bihari Mishra died on March 7 in Calcutta. He was unwell for a long time and returned home from the hospital on March 6 after a month, said his eldest son Kamalesh Mishra.
Dr Krishna Bihari Mishra is the author of Kalpataru ki Utsavleela, an autobiographical work based on the life of Ramakrishna Paramahansa. He is one of the leading essayists in Hindi and is also known for his efforts in Hindi journalism. Krishna Bihari Mishra was awarded Padma Shri for his literary contribution.
The eldest son said early in the morning that his "daddy is no more" and that he breathed his last at midnight, around 00:30 - 01:00. "He was in the hospital for a month due to health problems and only returned home on March 6," he said.
He was awarded the Sanskrit Saurabh Samman in November last year. He was 90 years old. He is survived by four sons and two daughters. Dr. Krishna Bihari Mishra has left behind an invaluable legacy of his researches and writings.
